Add-in Load Behavior
When running add-ins in Office, problems with load behavior can occur. The add-in may not load (properly) or may even be completely disabled.
Causes
There are multiple causes for this, such as:
- An incorrect path in the registry to the shared (config) and content folder
- Manually disabled add-ins after, for example, an Office program crash
- Aggressive disabling of (slow) add-ins by Office itself. This is particularly a problem in Outlook.
Solutions
To solve these issues, you can use various registry files. You have the following options:
Always enable dStyle365 (force) in Current User.reg
- Forces the add-in to be on, ensures that load behavior is ignored, and users can no longer uncheck the add-in via options->add-ins.
- Applies only to our add-ins; others can be added by adding a line with the (internal) name of the other add-in.

Increase outlook loading treshold to 1388 (CU).reg
- Sets the time Outlook gives add-ins to 5 seconds (instead of 0.5s), which precisely solves the problem below. This value can also be manually adjusted (1388 is hexadecimal, stands for 5000ms).
- This applies to all add-ins! So if there are many slow add-ins, it may be advisable to disable some of them.
