Amsterdam / Huizen, 29 September 2026 – Docbldr and Documentaal are joining forces. The two Dutch document automation specialists for legal and professional services are merging. The merger is expected to be formally completed on 1 November 2026. Both brands will continue to operate under their own names.
Two sides of the same document
Documentaal sets up document creation inside Microsoft 365: templates, house style, text modules and legal document structure in Word and Outlook, with products including dStyle365, LegalWord365 and DocID. Docbldr specialises in complex documents, such as share purchase agreements. Its guided online questionnaires work for lawyers and for self-service: clients complete the questionnaire themselves, and the firm reviews the result. Reusable clauses are managed centrally.
Together, the two companies cover the full document chain: from a letter in the firm's house style to a fully automated agreement that a client completes through a guided questionnaire.
Firms want to capture their own knowledge and ways of working, while clients increasingly expect to do part of the work online themselves. The merger stems from the growth ambitions of both companies and allows them to serve firms and legal departments across that entire range, with a team that knows Dutch practice.

What this means for customers
For existing customers, everything continues to work as before: the same software, the same contacts and the same agreements. The first joint developments will follow in the coming months, and we will inform customers and partners directly.
